“Gratitude is the healthiest of all human emotions.
The more you express gratitude for what you have,
The more likely you will have even more, to express gratitude for.”
~ Zig Zigler
How can we be grateful, especially during these challenging times?
Where can we lean into softness, especially when the hard edges of anger, disappointment, and grief overcome us?
How can we show compassion, especially to those in need of comfort and support.
And, how do we know when we are in need of compassion and kindness?
Let us go into this Thanksgiving week, allowing ourselves to be gentle with all that may be arising;
Let us find the small tidbits of empathy, kindness and love, that are inside us; giving first to ourselves, and letting the remnants scatter into our families, our friends and our communities.
Where can you find gratitude in the simplest of things; the smell of an apple pie, the smiles and laughter, of our families, and our friends, sitting around the Thanksgiving table.
And how can you extend those simple acts of gratitude into your community, giving a helping hand to someone in need, someone less fortunate, that can really use a dose of kindness?
Blessings to you as you take time to reflect on everything that Thanksgiving brings,
Including the sorrows, the sadness, and the joy!
May you find gentleness during this time, for all that you may be experiencing,
and may you find peace in the gratitude of Thanksgiving.
AND SO IT IS! HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
