Finding my passion

Hi, my name is Bequi Livingston, and having been a wildland firefighter and wildland fire operations health and safety specialist for over 30 years, I know the rigors of being a first responder, and the toll that traumatic stress and grief have on us: physically, emotionally, mentally, relationally, and spiritually. I started my wildland fire career in 1979, as one of the pioneer women, along with being an elite athlete and fitness and wellness professional. I worked through the wildland firefighter ranks, eventually moving into leadership roles, where I retired in 2018. I prided myself, focusing on firefighter health, fitness and wellness, establishing several programs, specific to those passions. However, I was burning the candle at both ends, distracting myself from my own trauma and grief through raising children, working a fulltime profession, and as a competitive athlete, until I could no longer sustain that pace. My world fell apart in 2016 after a series of wildland fire tragedies and personal crisis, when I was diagnosed with complex post-traumatic stress, complicated grief and Hashimoto’s thyroiditis (an autoimmune condition). One of my greatest gifts, is that I can relate, on a very personal level, how this feels in the body, the mind, and the heart, when our nervous systems become overwhelmed and injured.

My BodySense Wellness business was first developed in 1993, with my purpose being to help my fellow wildland firefighters, and other first responders, become healthy and whole. As a Certified Trauma Specialist, Certified Integrative Health Coach, Certified Personal Fitness Trainer, Certified Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Instructor and Registered Yoga Teacher, my passion is to help guide my clients towards healing, in a safe and compassionate manner, helping them find their personal path to health and wholeness.

I offer an authentic, honest and nurturing space to better help you develop your own personal roadmap to health, fitness, wellness, and healing. Together, we can determine what your needs and values are, and what healing modalities might best resonate with you.
